Select Nishikigoi International Autumn Harvest
Select Nishikigoi International will be having a unique koi harvest in October.
They have been growing over 100 selected high class Tosai in their 40,000-gallon indoor growing pond. The pond, with its favoured location in the south east of England reaches temperatures similar to Japan, at 28-30C.
The koi were carefully selected by Deron Simons, who’s ability to select Tosai at this level has resulted in koi that have taken awards at the All Japan and ZNA Koi Shows. Only those with a real future were placed in the pond.
The koi are from some of Japan’s elite; Omosako, Matsue, Koi No Yohei, Takeda and Isa, with some expected to reach 50cm-plus at the time of harvest. A large number of koi will be available to purchase on the day.
The dates for the harvest are not yet fixed as it will be dependant upon the weather conditions – if the UK is having an Indian Summer then the koi will be left to grow more!
